My tongue has been pierced for 10 years now and my navel for 12. I’ve been contemplating taking them out.
I used to have another piercing that was in a more “personal” place on my body but I had to take that one out because my husband wouldn’t stop biting it if you get my meaning and I wasn’t about to risk infection there!
My navel has actually been pierced twice. The first time I had it pierced I had to drive to Walnut Creek California to have it done because there wasn’t a body piercing place in my town. Unfortunately it worked itself out after a year because the ring was silver. I waited a couple of months for it to heal and had it re-pierced.
Lately my husband has been talking about me having the “personal” piercing redone. I reminded him what happened last time and he swears he’ll leave it along. Of course I called him a liar and I’m not so happy about having a piercing that keeps my husband away from an area that I particularly like him to pay attention to.
I’m so attached to my piercings that every time I had surgery I was able to have my jewelry on hand to put back in as soon as I came out of anesthesia. During the last surgery the nurse on duty tried to argue with me but I play a mean game of Mexican sweat. She ended up giving me a ziplock baggie that was tucked under my side while I was on the operating table. I don’t think I was even awake yet when I put them back in. I know my eyes weren’t open yet.
Ah but I’m getting older now. July 10th I’ll hit the 35 year milestone or is that millstone? I’m thinking millstone…around my neck! Maybe it is time to grow up and take out the piercings besides I can always make up for it with another tattoo.
Speaking of tattoos, I’ve been wanting to ge another one. I designed one last year but just haven’t had it done yet. My lettering looks like crap so hopefully the tat artist can fix that for me. I have no idea where I’m going to put it though. Here’s what I want, what do you think?
