It’s time to clean up my computer. God I hate backing shit up. I can’t even tell you how long it has been since I backed anything up.
I just got started backing things up onto a CD and already I have 31 fucking miserable ass minutes left. That’s only to copy 7 damn files. It’s not like I’m making copies of Yongle Dadian or anything.
The Yongle Dadian is the longest book ever written by the way. Interesting Chinese fucker I have to say.
Anyway, I’ll probably be here all day backing this crap up on to CDs which sucks because I have about 15 articles to write and some blog posts to make besides this one. I also have a couch to fix but that’s another blog post altogether.
I tell ya, I have an enormous amount of junk on this computer but it’s because my kids use my computer too and my son is forever downloading shit on to it for his iPod. someday I plan on building the kids a computer of their own so they’ll leave mine alone.
I almost had one for them too. I had a bunch of old computer parts and a few cases I’d collected by way of teching for people. I pulled them all apart and got one going but the hard drive failed. I figured no biggie. I headed over to eBay and grabbed a cheap40 gigger.
ISlapped that puppy in there and it worked…now I just need a new motherboard. Apparently the only one I had was toast because a 4 year old salt and peppered it and stuck a fork into it. Don’t ask me about the details, I have no idea. I heard the news second hand from my husband who is actually the one that dragged the damned thing home.
I’ve got plenty of shit on here myself. I’ve always been a P2P whore and I’m worse about it now that I have my own mp3 player.
Yea so anyway it sucks. I hate backing shit up. I’d rather jab a sharp stick in my left eye but I guess ya gotta do what ya gotta do to keep Ye Fucking Merry Old Desktop running smooth.
