Or the internet writing community as it may be. I’ve begun promoting my writing in so many places now that I’m finding it difficult to keep up. So far I haven’t developed a strategy that will tie them all together so they take less time to maintain.
Some places that I use to promote with have been neglected as of late, extremely neglected. I’m hoping to pick those back up in my promotion campaign but we’ll just have to see how it goes.
Here are the places I’m currently listed and am using to promote my work so check them out and let me know what you think and how I can improve. If there’s something you’d like to see that’s not there send me a message telling me what it is.
My Associated Content Page – this is where most of my articles are published. All the promotion I’m doing centers around my library of articles. Some of those articles are blogged about here.
My Personal Fiction Writing MySpace Page – I make no bones about admitting how much I hate myspace but yes I did succumb and open up an account, actually two accounts. This myspace account has potential but I don’t read there or post anymore. It’s more of a portfolio than anything else. I don’t send messages because I’m either too lazy or don’t have anything to say. The unique thing about my blog is that it showcases my graphic stuff as well as my writing. The only other site I have that has my art on it is my personal site, everything else is my writing.
My Internet Writing MySpace Page – my second myspace page is about my writing on the internet. It includes feeds from both The Libertine Muse and my Associated Content articles. Not much to do there, it’s boring and I have no idea what to do with it to make it otherwise. It’s pretty though.
My Edit Red Page – My Edit Red page is mostly my fiction stuff. My profile is a mess at the moment and I need to get my butt over there and update it.
Squidoo Lenses
Right now I have 2 lenses but I plan to have more. I am using squidoo to categorize my articles into different groups. After I’ve created all my lenses, I’m going to create a lenses of my lenses as a way of posting about any updates I’ll be doing to the lenses. I might do a featured lens update spot, run some polls and what not. I’ll keep you posted as I get them done.
Petastic – This page is a recap of all the pet related articles. It does have a place where you can place your own link if you want.
Family Affairs – This one is also a recap of my articles, but it’s about the family related stuff like advice on kids, health warnings and all that.
HubPages – I’m finally grasping the concept of hubpages. I’ve neglected mine and I’m not sure why. I think they were coming along nicely and then I just dropped the ball. ah well another place to pick up along the way.
Digg – I’ve not been digging much lately. I am trying to make time to go back and digg all those that are diggable. If you want to become a dig friend add me and I’ll add you so we can digg each other.
My Own Personal Website – This is just plain sad. I love my website but I’ve not done anything with it. I designed the layout and installed all the software and its got great potential to be a good site. It’s set up to be a community for fiction writers but I haven’t branched out and promoted it. Pop in and say hey if you want and maybe I’ll get this community going.
Well there you have it, something of a list. Of course this list doesn’t show any of the forums or yahoo groups I participate in nor does it show blog networking and other random places I promote. Not much of a promotion campaign but it’s a good start.
